About this area
Joint pain, morning stiffness, a stiff neck after long hours at a screen or a back that aches after work can make ordinary days harder. These concerns are common at every age, and no two people experience them in quite the same way.
This page explains how the Ayurvedic approach to joint, bone and musculoskeletal concerns is planned at our clinics: understanding your history first, then building a plan that may include therapies, formulations and lifestyle guidance where suitable.
The Ayurvedic view
In Ayurvedic thinking, many joint and muscle complaints are linked with Vata, the principle of movement, described as dry, light and cold. Traditional care therefore pays attention to warmth, nourishment, routine and gentle movement, always adapted to the individual.
Concerns covered
Aching or discomfort in the knees, hips, shoulders or other joints, especially with movement.
For people who have been told they have a form of arthritis. Ayurvedic care is discussed alongside, not instead of, their ongoing medical care.
Lower or upper back discomfort, often linked with posture, lifting, long sitting or activity levels.
Neck stiffness and discomfort, commonly related to posture, screens, pillows and work habits.
Reduced ease of movement, often worse in the morning or after resting.
Other muscle and bone-related discomforts that affect movement and daily activity.
