Your journey

Diet & Lifestyle Guidance, from first message to follow-up.

  1. Start

What is Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle guidance?

In Ayurveda, food (Ahara) and daily living (Vihara) are given as much attention as any formulation.

Classical texts describe daily routines (Dinacharya) and seasonal routines (Ritucharya), and look not only at what we eat but at when and how we eat it.

Diet and lifestyle guidance at Dr. Dogra Ayurveda is practical. It is built around your own kitchen, work hours, family meals and the Punjab seasons, not a list of rare ingredients or a rigid chart.

  2. Your plan

    How it fits your plan

Guidance on food and routine is part of almost every care plan.

It may be all that is needed, or it may sit alongside formulations and therapies. It is based on your consultation and, where relevant, on the Ayurvedic idea of constitution (Prakriti), and it is adjusted at follow-up as your routine changes.

  3. Your visit

    What to expect

    1. Your current routineQuestions about meals, meal timing, sleep, activity, work hours and stress.
    2. Simple, specific changesA small number of realistic changes rather than a long list of rules.
    3. Seasonal adviceHow your routine might change with the seasons, according to Ayurvedic principles.
    4. Fits your other careGuidance that respects any diet advice from your other doctors.
    5. ReviewProgress is discussed at follow-up and the guidance adjusted when required.
  4. Is it for me?

Who it may be discussed for

Suitability is always decided after individual assessment.

    • Anyone who wants to understand Ayurvedic principles of food and daily routine
    • People consulting for digestive, metabolic or lifestyle-related concerns, as part of a wider plan
    • People who prefer to begin with small, practical changes

If you follow a medically advised diet, for example for diabetes, kidney or heart conditions, continue it and share it with Dr. Varun so that any guidance respects it.

Diet & Lifestyle Guidance: questions

Do I need to buy special foods?

Usually not. Guidance is built around ordinary home cooking and local, seasonal food wherever possible.

Is this a weight-loss diet plan?

No. It is individual guidance on food and routine based on Ayurvedic principles. It may be discussed as part of care for weight or metabolic concerns, but it is not a fixed diet chart.

What is Prakriti?

Prakriti is the Ayurvedic idea of a person’s natural constitution, described through Vata, Pitta and Kapha. You can explore it with our Prakriti self-assessment, which is general information and not a diagnosis.

Can I follow this alongside a diet advised by my doctor?

Yes. Tell Dr. Varun about it. A medically advised diet should continue, and Ayurvedic guidance is adapted around it.
