About this area
Acidity, a heavy stomach after meals, irregular bowels or a report that mentions fatty liver are among the most common reasons people visit an Ayurvedic clinic. These concerns are often closely linked with meal timings, food choices, sleep and stress.
In Ayurveda, digestion sits at the centre of overall well-being. This page explains in general terms how Dr. Varun Dogra approaches digestive and liver-related concerns, and what you can expect from a consultation.
The Ayurvedic view
Ayurveda describes digestive strength as Agni, often translated as the “digestive fire”. When routine, food and sleep become irregular, Agni is said to become irregular too. An Ayurvedic assessment therefore looks beyond the stomach to the whole day: when you eat, what you eat, how you sleep and how you handle stress.
Concerns covered
Burning, sour belching or discomfort after meals, often discussed together with meal timing, tea, spicy food and late dinners.
Heaviness, bloating or feeling full for a long time after eating.
Infrequent or difficult bowel movements, looked at alongside water intake, fibre, activity and routine.
Recurring changes in bowel habit with discomfort, where diet and stress patterns are explored carefully and any medical diagnosis is respected.
Often found on a routine ultrasound. Weight, diet and activity are a large part of the conversation, alongside your doctor’s monitoring.
Gas, cramps or general unease in the stomach that does not fit neatly into one label.

Yes. Fatty liver is one of the concerns people often bring. Dr. Varun looks at diet, weight, activity and routine along with your reports. Your regular medical monitoring should continue, and responses vary from person to person.
No. If you have recent reports or prescriptions, please bring them. If not, the consultation can still begin, and tests are suggested only if they are needed.
Diet guidance is personal and practical. The aim is changes you can actually keep up at home, worked out with you rather than handed over as a rigid list.
