General Ayurvedic information based on your answers. Your Prakriti is best understood in a personal consultation.
What is Prakriti?
Three doshas, one individual balance.
In Ayurveda, Prakriti describes a person's natural constitution: the individual balance of the three doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, that is traditionally said to be present from birth. Classical texts use these concepts to understand why people differ in build, appetite, sleep and temperament, and to guide general diet and lifestyle advice.
Air & space
Vata
Light · dry · cool · mobile
Traditionally associated with movement: breathing, circulation, the nervous system and the flow of thoughts.
Often described as
- Often lively, quick-thinking and creative
- Tends towards a lighter frame and drier skin
- Appetite, energy and sleep may vary from day to day
Fire & water
Pitta
Hot · sharp · light · slightly oily
Traditionally associated with transformation: digestion, metabolism, body warmth and understanding.
Often described as
- Often focused, determined and articulate
- Tends towards a medium build and a strong appetite
- May feel uncomfortable in hot weather
Earth & water
Kapha
Heavy · stable · cool · smooth
Traditionally associated with structure and stability: strength, lubrication and steadiness of body and mind.
Often described as
- Often calm, patient and caring
- Tends towards a sturdier build and good stamina
- May be slow to get going in the morning

After the self-assessment
A questionnaire is only a starting point.
Prakriti is understood properly in a personal consultation, where Dr. Varun Dogra considers your history, present concerns and lifestyle, which a short questionnaire cannot do. If you have a health concern, please consult a qualified professional rather than relying on this result.
