Hormone imbalance
Extra androgen and estrogen disturb the normal cycle.

Problems we treat · Women's Health
Dr. Varun's Ayurvedic care supports cycles and weight, alongside your gynaecologist's treatment.
Overview
PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a hormonal imbalance in women. It affects about 5-10% of women aged 15 to 45 and is a common reason for irregular periods and difficulty conceiving.
The ovaries may enlarge, form many small cysts and make extra androgen and estrogen hormones. Ovulation may not happen regularly.
The Ayurvedic view
In Ayurveda, PCOS mainly involves pitta and kapha, with toxins building up in plasma and blood, so care aims to cleanse, balance hormones and support a regular cycle.
Causes
Extra androgen and estrogen disturb the normal cycle.
Irregular ovulation leads to small cysts in the ovaries.
The body handles sugar poorly, which adds to weight gain.
Low activity and refined, sugary food can worsen the imbalance.

Ayurvedic approach
Dr. Varun listens to your symptoms, history, food habits and routine, and looks at any reports or medicines you already take.
Nadi pariksha (pulse) and Prakriti (body type) assessment help him understand your individual balance.
Where suitable, a personal plan may combine diet and routine changes, classical Ayurvedic medicines and, for some people, Panchakarma.
Progress is reviewed and the plan adjusted, at the clinic or on WhatsApp.

Home remedies
Choose low glycemic index foods such as tomatoes, cauliflower, onions, apples, peaches and grapefruit. They raise blood sugar slowly and steadily.
Exercise every day, such as brisk walking or yoga, to manage weight, which plays a big role in PCOS.
Grapefruit interacts with some medicines; check with your doctor if you take regular medicine.

Your care plan
For PCOS, Dr. Varun first talks with you, by video, audio or at the clinic. If Ayurvedic care suits you, he puts together a kit for you personally.
