Infertility

Ayurvedic care for couples trying to conceive, given alongside your fertility doctor's treatment.

Overview

What is infertility?

Infertility means difficulty in conceiving. In women, it can also mean being unable to carry a pregnancy to full term.

Ayurveda compares conception to farming. A healthy crop needs good seed, good soil, water and the right time. In the same way, a healthy pregnancy depends on the health of both parents.

The Ayurvedic view

Ayurveda links fertility to shukra dhatu, the reproductive tissue. It forms last in a chain that starts with digestion, so overall health matters.

Seed (ovum and sperm)

Healthy egg and sperm, like good seed.

Soil (uterus)
