Insomnia (Sleeplessness)

A gentle Ayurvedic approach to help you fall asleep and stay asleep, through diet, routine and calming care.

Overview

What is insomnia?

Insomnia means you cannot fall asleep at night, cannot sleep enough hours, or cannot sleep soundly.

It leaves you tired and affects daily work.

The Ayurvedic view

Ayurveda links insomnia to aggravated Vata (air element) reaching the head and disturbing sleep. Care aims to calm Vata and relax the mind.

Stress and emotions

Worry, anger, overwork and suppressed emotions.

How Dr. Varun approaches care

  1. 1

    Consultation

Dr. Varun listens to your symptoms, history, food habits and routine, and looks at any reports or medicines you already take.

  2. 2

    Assessment

Nadi pariksha (pulse) and Prakriti (body type) assessment help him understand your individual balance.

  3. 3

    Your plan

Where suitable, a personal plan may combine diet and routine changes, classical Ayurvedic medicines and, for some people, Panchakarma.

  4. 4

    Follow-up

Progress is reviewed and the plan adjusted, at the clinic or on WhatsApp.
