Asthma

Wheezing and breathlessness that get worse at night? Dr. Varun Dogra offers Ayurvedic care alongside your doctor's treatment and inhalers.

Overview

What is asthma?

Asthma is a lung condition in which the airways become narrow, usually in response to a trigger. Common triggers are cold air, allergens, heavy exercise and emotional stress.

This causes wheezing, chest tightness, cough and shortness of breath. Attacks can start suddenly, and many people feel fine between attacks.

The Ayurvedic view

Ayurveda sees asthma as aggravated Kapha building up in the airways and blocking airflow. Care aims to restore digestion, calm Kapha and clear toxins through diet, herbs and routine.

Ginger turmeric milk

If milk worsens your phlegm or you have a milk allergy, ask Dr. Varun first; never use this in place of your inhaler.
